Kastell is pleased to announce that EU and competition law expert Malin Persson has been promoted to partner as of 1 January 2023.
Malin has significant experience of all kinds of EU and competition law matters, including State aid, with a particular focus on providing regulatory advice relating to legislation derived from EU law, as well as matters relating to compliance. Malin regularly represents the firm’s clients before the Swedish courts (general and administrative courts) and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Malin has been at Kastell for over six years, prior to which she was at the Court of Justice of the European Union (Chambers of Advocate General Nils Wahl) and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She previously worked at another commercial law firm.
Carl Norén (Managing Partner): We are proud and happy to welcome Malin to the partnership. There are many changes taking place within EU law, with new legislation in several areas which affect our clients. For example, there are new laws on whistleblowing and unfair trading practices, and we are expecting new legislation on screening of foreign direct investments this year. Malin is a skilled and dedicated lawyer who will continue to develop and strengthen our offering, primarily within EU law, regulatory advice & compliance, but also in competition law and State aid law. Malin also adds important value to our dispute resolution team.
Malin Persson: I am happy and proud to have been elected partner at Kastell, an organisation that I truly respect, due to both the skills of my colleagues, and for the firm’s core values. I look forward to developing Kastell’s offering within EU law, regulatory advice & compliance, and to being part of and developing the firm’s expertise in competition law and, in particular, State aid law, which is close to my heart.
