Kastell’s Strategic Focus on Dispute Resolution Strengthened by Key Hire in International Arbitration
We are very pleased to announce that Christoffer Coello Hedberg – an international arbitration specialist – has joined Kastell, after having held senior positions at the leading arbitral institutions Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and the SCC Arbitration Institute (SCC).
The recruitment of Christoffer is the pinnacle of the strategic investment that Kastell has undertaken in its dispute resolution practice throughout the spring. It also included the senior hires of Catarina Rivero Lira and Jakob Andersson, both members of the Swedish Bar, who joined the firm in March 2026.
“We are delighted and honoured that Christoffer – who has a clear focus on both counsel work and future appointments as arbitrator – has chosen Kastell as the platform for the next step in his career in international arbitration”, says Magnus Eriksson, Head of Kastell’s Dispute Resolution Practice.
He continues: “Demand for our dispute resolution services has increased significantly in recent years. A substantial part of this growth is attributable to counsel mandates in large-scale international arbitrations involving disputes of multi-billion crown value. This is a development we welcome and look forward to continuing to invest in.”
Kastell’s dispute resolution team currently consists of twelve dedicated specialists, with extensive experience in commercial arbitration and litigation. Our comparatively senior staffing, modern way of working, and strong international network place us in an excellent position to handle large and complex international arbitrations.
During his time at the SCC and DIAC, Christoffer worked closely with arbitral tribunals, counsel, and parties on procedural and strategic issues arising throughout the lifecycle of arbitral proceedings. He also contributed to the development of both of those institutions and their services. At the SCC, he served on the Rules Revision Committee, which was responsible for the 2023 SCC Arbitration Rules. As a member of DIAC’s leadership team, he contributed to the work that led to DIAC’s inclusion on the White List in the Global Arbitration Review’s Guide to Regional Arbitration.
He is a frequent speaker at international arbitration events and has published several articles on international arbitration and institutional practice. He began his career at an internationally leading law firm in Stockholm and has completed a clerkship at a Swedish District Court in the Stockholm area.
